Main Areas of Responsibility: Candidates for the position will have a
proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and financial
management, team building and leadership, program development and
implementation, a strong background in the arts, and training,
education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in
Public Administration, Arts Administration, Art Education, Fine Arts,
Museum Studies, or a related field. Knowledge of the literary arts is
a plus, including editing and publishing.
Addtional Areas of Responsibility: The Director will be responsible
for oversight of all programs, as well as the daily operations of a
mid-sized non-profit. This position requires considerable initiative
and independent judgment: a strong commitment to a community/
grassroots approach to program development, the desire and ability to
work collaboratively as the leader of a team, good networking skills,
the ability to work in a loosely structured but demanding
environment, and a sense of humor.
Other Information/Requirements: The successful candidate must also be
able to manage multiple tasks, embrace deadlines and work comfortably
with a wide variety of audience, staff, clients and stakeholders.
